Dr. Heidi Shaff

Dr. Shaff has strong ties to Massachusetts, born and raised in Natick. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with an undergraduate degree in The Biological Basis of Behavior. While in college, Dr. Shaff enjoyed playing intramural and club sports, exploring Philadelphia and taking road trips to cities up and down the East Coast. Dr. Shaff returned to the Boston area for medical school, attending the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school, Dr. Shaff spent a summer volunteering at a rural medical clinic in Guatemala.

Dr. Shaff did her pediatric training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center, in the Boston Combined Residency Program. Dr. Shaff joined Milton Pediatrics in 2003. Her favorite part of primary care is building long-term relationships with her patients and families.

Dr. Shaff is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, participating in the training of pediatric residents. Her hospital affiliations include Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Shaff lives in Needham with her husband David, teenage children Rebecca and Adam, and rescue dog Harper. She is the co-chair of a local Social Action committee – her work includes organizing and participating in volunteer work which benefits local shelters. She enjoys family game nights including cooking challenges, spin classes, skiing, playing tennis, and traveling.

Fun Fact: Dr. Shaff’s favorite children’s book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.
